- Shubham Jaglan and Yuvraj Sandhu lead with 14-under 199
- Jaglan on way to first title of career, Sandhu nears record seventh title
- Two crore prize money tournament at its peak ahead of final round
- The rest of the field is five shots behind, the match is now between two players
The thrill of the Tata Open 2025 season finale at the Beldih and Golmuri Golf Courses in Jamshedpur is finally in its final phase. All eyes are now on only two names in the tournament, which carries a prize money of Rs 2 crore.
21-year-old Shubham Jaglan from Gurugram and veteran golfer Yuvraj Sandhu from Chandigarh. Both are tied with a 14-under 199 and Sunday’s final round will decide who will be the new champion.
Janglan’s quiet confident race
Shubham Jaglan played a game on Saturday that brought him straight to the limelight.A six-under 65 score without any error on the third day… a game of maturity with three birdies, an eagle and a golfer’s age.
Shubham started off brilliantly in the morning at Golmuri. The conversion of two seven feet and two 15 feet boosted the confidence. The rhythm of the game slowed down a bit as soon as he arrived at the Beldih course in the back-nine, but two brilliant cross-savings became a turning point for him.
“It was a new experience for me to play the same round in two courses. The journey disturbed some momentum, but enjoyed playing under pressure.Today the leader was in the group for the first time, the crowd pressure was different, but today I seem to have proved myself.” ”
Yuvraj Sandhu: Fresh hunger after big achievement
Yuvraj Sandhu has already secured a place in the DP World Tour for next year by winning the PGTI Order of Merit. But the story doesn’t end here.
Sandhu has already won six titles this season and now the seventh title can put him in the record book like no one did in a year.
Yuvraj played a three-under 68 card on the third day.A fantastic start at Golmuri, but miss a few in Beldih… especially two three-pots.
“This will be my last competitive round of 2025, so I intend to throw everything away.I will learn from the mistakes that happened and play aggressively on Sunday.” ”
The rest of the field is behind, fans are just two
The difference between the top two players is now not just about the game, but also about mental strength. While Jaglan is on the threshold of his first title of his career, Sandhu is trying to write a unique chapter in the domestic circuit on the back of his experience and form.
They are followed by Veer Ahlawat, Khalin Joshi and N. Thangaraja in joint third place on 9-under 204 and are currently far away from the title race.
Excitement at Jamshedpur borders
The Tata Open format was also a new experience for the audience this year.In the first two rounds, the players played turns on both the courses.
In the third and fourth rounds, the Leader Group plays in front-nine Golmuri and back-nine Beldih. This unique combination of total Par 71 is testing both the patience and strategy of the players.
When both the young contenders perform T-off in the final round, it will be not just a score but a dream that a golfer has cherished since his childhood.
