Haryana Voter Photo Controversy: Brazilian Model Shocked After Seeing Her Photo on Indian Voter Cards
Haryana News: During the election in Haryana, Rahul Gandhi held a press conference and brought up the issue of vote
Haryana News: During the election in Haryana, Rahul Gandhi held a press conference and brought up the issue of vote fraud. He showed several photos in which a woman’s face was used on multiple voter ID cards. The woman in these pictures, shockingly, was not from India but is a Brazilian model and a social media influencer.
Model Larissa was surprised.
The woman who has now come forward is named Larissa. She said in the Instagram video, “I don’t understand why my old photo is being used in the Indian elections. I was only 18 or 20 years old at that time. Now they are portraying me as an Indian woman. It is complete madness.”
Going further, Larissa said that she does not have anything to do with Indian politics and has never visited India. Expressing her love for the Indian people, she said, “Hello India, I have been asked to send a video for Indian journalists. I love India, I just want my photos not to be misused.”

Memes and jokes flood social media.
The mistake was noticed by fact-checker Mohammad Zubair, who highlighted that this was no ordinary voter. Memes and jokes started flowing on social media as people started asking how the picture of a foreign model landed on the Indian voter list.
Statement by Pinky, a real voter from Haryana
CNN-News18 spoke with Pinky Juginder Kaushik of Haryana whose voter card had this incorrect photo. He said, “The name was mine but the photo seemed like someone else’s. I showed my slip and cast my vote. No one stopped me from voting.”
What the Election Commission Said
The Election Commission has outright rejected Rahul Gandhi’s allegations, saying no official complaint was received from any booth. “If anyone had a problem with the identity or photo, Congress agents could have filed an objection there, but that did not happen,” the Commission said.
An investigation by The Indian Express found that many of Rahul Gandhi’s claims were inconsistent with the facts. For example, he claimed that “501 voters” were registered in a house in the Hodal area of Haryana, when the truth turned out to be that there was a shared family plot where four generations lived under the same house number.
