Haryana Bus Accident: A tragic accident happened in Yamunanagar district in Haryana on Thursday morning, which sent shock waves across the region. Reports coming in state that a Haryana Roadways bus (number HR 58 GV 6578) reached the Pratap Nagar bus stand, where some female students were trying to board the moving bus.
Six girl students slipped and fell due to loss of balance. One died on the spot, while five others received serious injuries. All the injured were soon hospitalized, where one student succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at PGI Chandigarh.
CM expresses condolences, announces aid
Chief Minister of Haryana Nayab Singh Saini expressed deep condolences over the accident and announced immediate financial assistance of ₹2.5 lakh to the family of the deceased student. The CM directed that injured students are given assistance of ₹50,000 each along with free treatment and reimbursement of medical expenses.
Chief Minister Saini termed the accident as very tragic and said the government would provide all possible support to the affected families. He also wished a speedy recovery for the injured students.
Strict Instructions to the Transport Department
Chief Minister directed the Haryana State Transport Department to ensure that there is no delay in the insurance coverage process and all the affected families get immediate relief. Officials were instructed to continuously monitor the condition of the injured. He also appealed to the public and students to remain alert while traveling and avoid boarding or alighting from a moving bus.
